SHILLONG: A minor girl in West Garo Hills was allegedly raped and the accused later forcibly married her after realising that the girl was pregnant
West Garo Hills police said on Monday that as per the FIR, the incident took place at a village under Phulbari police station. The 14-year-old minor was raped and then forced into a marriage as initially, no one filed a complaint against the culprit, police said.
The accused, who has been identified as Akbar Ali, was arrested on Sunday after the matter was reported to the superintendent of police, West Garo Hills.
