HLC to examine records, papers on Sweepers’ Colony

SHILLONG: The High Level Committee for relocation of the Sweepers’ Colony will meet next week to discuss the issue.
HLC member and Urban Affairs Minister, Hamlet Dohling, said that the Committee wants to examine the relevant papers and reports in details.
Earlier, the Committee had directed the Directorate of Land Records and Survey and the Shillong Municipal Board to conduct an exhaustive land survey of Them Iew Mawlong.
Following the survey, the report was placed before the Committee.
The Committee has sought certain clarifications from both the departments.
It may be mentioned that the HLC is examining all relevant records and documents relating to the relocation of residents of Sweepers’ Colony.
