10-year-old electrocuted in WKH

MAWKYRWAT: A 10-year-old boy from Laitlawsnai village near Mawthawpdah in South West Khasi Hills was electrocuted on Sunday.
The incident took place around 2.30 pm when the boy, identified as Demunstar Sangriang, went to the place where the 63 KVA sub-station was installed at Laitlawsnai and touched the high-tension wire.
He died on the spot, Superintendent of Police HG Lyngdoh said.
“All formalities have been observed and an unnatural death case has been registered in Mawkyrwat police station,” Lyngdoh said, adding that the body of the boy has been taken to Mawkyrwat Community Health Centre for post-mortem.
