Ex-MLA to contest 2019 Council poll

SHILLONG: Former MLA Titosstarwell Chyne has decided to contest in the 2019 district council election following a meeting of the executive committee of the UDP Sohra constituency at Maraikaphon on Saturday.
Speaking at a gathering, Chyne said he did not want to contest the elections again but “people insisted”.
Chyne was an MDC from 2009-2014 and MLA from 2013-2018.
He was defeated in the Assembly 2018 election by People’s Democratic Front MLA Gavin Mylliem.
