HSPDP names candidate for 2019 Council polls

NONGSTOIN: The HSPDP Nongstoin Unit on Monday announced the name of Sanjied Kynsai Shangrit as its candidate for the district council election in 2019.
The decision was taken in a meeting attended by president of Nongstoin unit Diosstarness Jyndiang along with youth wing president Michael Thongni, members of the women’s wing and 56 primary units of the HSPDP.
Jyndiang said the meeting was organised not only to select the party candidate for the 2019 district ouncil election but also to strengthen the party.
“I hope that the party will get support from the people of Nongstoin”, he added.
The meeting also discussed the preparations for the party’s golden jubilee celebration and appointed Shangrit as chairman and Thongni as secretary of the celebration committee, besides other members.
New office bearers of the party’s Nongstoin unit were also elected with Jyndiang as the president, Thingdar Lyngdoh and Nicholas Marwein as vice presidents and PK Lyngdoh as general secretary, among other members.
