Meghalaya Day awardees approved

SHILLONG: The State Cabinet on Wednesday approved the names of the recipients of the Meghalaya Day Awards.

Speaking to media persons after the Cabinet meeting,  Deputy Chief Minister, Prestone Tynsong said that   based on recommendations of the advisory committee, the Cabinet approved the name of   Bertha Dkhar   from Bethany Society for the Pa Togan Sangma Award for social service

Similarly,   the name of Handam R Marak, who is a craftsmen was approved for the   U Tirot Sing Award which is conferred to personalities from the field of Arts and Culture.

The Cabinet also approved the name of   Aiborlang Khongjee, footballer  for the U Kiang Nongbah Award for   achievement in sports
