SHILLONG: The Meghalaya Transport Corporation Workers Union (MTCWU) demanded the release of their 4 months’ salary within 15 days.
In a statement issued here, general secretary of the union, K. Rumnong said irregularities in payment of salary has made their lives difficult as the government has failed to provide 6 months’ salary including the month of July.
However, the union has asked to release at least 4 months’ salary so that it will ease up a bit of their troubles.
He added if no response is received by the above date, the union threatened to resort to alternate steps to ensure their demand is met.
