Accident
One scooty (AS-01DR-2171) crashed on the road at Mawdiangum in Ri Bhoi on Wednesday. The rider and pillion rider sustained injuries and were shifted to Bethany Hospital in Nongpoh.
On Wednesday around 3:00 pm, one Maruti Ertiga (AS-06J-2020) driven by Amitabh Choudhury capsized at Shangbangla in Ri Bhoi. The driver sustained injuries and was taken to CH Nongpoh.
One truck (HR-55S-4186) capsized on the road at Umling in Ri Bhoi on Wednesday. The driver and his helper sustained injuries and were transported to PHC Byrnihat.
On July 21 around 11:20pm, one Maruti Alto (ML-05F-7153) driven by Julius Banjop Kharbyngar (19) capsized at Laitkor. The driver along with two minor male occupants sustained injuries and were admitted at Civil Hospital while two other occupants sustained minor injuries. However, one of the injured occupants identified as Franky Kharduit (15) was referred to NEIGRIHMS, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Assault
Abinash Rabha of Lower Manikganj in North Garo Hills lodged a complaint stating that on July 22 around 5:30 pm, three boys assaulted him and also threatened him with dire consequences.

Body recovered
On July 24, the decomposed body of an unidentified male was found at Arkilo (Lad Sutnga) area in East Jaintia Hills.
On July 23, one unidentified body of a 55-56 year-old male was recovered near Ladrymbai Road in East Jaintia Hills.

Cyber crime
Minubel K Marak of MLA Hostel, Assembly Staff Quarter, Police Bazar, lodged a complaint stating that on July 24, one Balrak Sangma posted photos of her daughter in one Facebook group identified as ‘The Times of Garo Hills’ with around 72,000 followers making indecent and abusive comments about the post. Further, another Facebook account also posted photos of her daughter with derogatory and indecent remarks.

Drowning
On Wednesday, one Enrick Jalong of Nongrim Nongladew, Ri Bhoi drowned in Umtung River.

Hit and run
On July 24 around 7.20 pm, one unknown vehicle knocked down Kitborlang Wahlang at Laitkor, Ksehbilat. The victim sustained injuries and was admitted at Civil Hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Man held with heroin
Police on Wednesday apprehended a person from Lower Mawprem and seized 12.51 grams of suspected heroin.

Theft
Dras Siangshai, Headman of Moolamanoh village in East Jaintia Hills and P. Siangshai, President, VDP Moolamanoh jointly lodged a complaint stating that on July 23 around 9:00 pm, one Jowell Dkhar was apprehended while he was stealing batteries from vehicles in the village.
Unknown miscreant(s) broke into the house of Pronatit Laloo at Lummawrie on Tuesday evening and stole Rs 3 lakh and one cell-phone.
Harinder Prasad of M/s H.P Enterprise, Patarim, Umsning lodged a complaint stating that on July 24 around 3:30 pm, unknown miscreant(s) entered his office and stole Rs 1,26,611 and fled with one Maruti van (ML-10B-1076) loaded with cold drinks valued around Rs. 9,853.
Purnima Roy lodged a complaint stating that on July 22, unknown miscreant(s) broke into her house at Upper Jail Road,and stole seven bangles valued at Rs 1,50,000.
Tanay Sengupta, Assistant Manager of Accounts (NEIGRIHMS project) lodged a complaint stating that on July 18, unknown miscreant(s) stole one Batching Pump valued at Rs 29,442 from the construction site at NEIGRIHMS Mawdiangdiang.

Trespassing
Titos Bamon, Headman of Khimusniang, Jowai (WJH) lodged a complaint on Wednesday stating that one Arlang Paslein trespassed into the residence of Isynei Bareh and created trouble. Police have arrested the accused.

Truck detained
On Thursday around 12:30 am, police detected one dumper truck ML-04C-4567 transporting coal in violation of the NGT order at Phra Mer in West Jaintia Hills. Police apprehended the handyman of the truck Dameki Lapasam while the driver managed to flee.
