Parrikar to look after department of ailing ministers

Panaji: Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar on Thursday informed Governor Mridula Sinha that he will be in charge of the departments of two ailing ministers, Francis D’Souza and Pandurang Madkaikar, in their absence. Both ministers belong to the BJP and are currently undergoing treatment in hospitals in Mumbai. While Madkaikar was admitted in Kokilaben Hospital after he suffered a brain stroke, D’Souza is undergoing treatment at Lilavati Hospital for an undisclosed ailment. “Chief minister has communicated that he will retain the portfolios of the two ministers….The CM will respond to questions related to these departments in the House,” an official from Parrikar’s office told PTI.
