SHILLONG: The Additional District Magistrate (ADM), in-charge of Pynursla Civil Sub-Division, has issued a prohibitory order under Section 144 CrPC prohibiting indiscriminate disposal of waste, littering and urinating in all the tourist spots, locations and destinations in particular and the entire Sub-Division in general.
The order has been issued in view of the reports received time and again that indiscriminate disposal of waste and urinating is rampantly taking place along NH-40 which has become an eyesore and a nuisance besides adversely affecting the scenic beauty.
The ADM stated that there has been a tendency to blot on the destination and reputation of Mawlynnong and the entire Sub-Divison.
Further, the ADM stated such bad habits casts aspersions on the open defecation free status of the Sub-Division thereby creating a tendency to discourage incoming tourist which eventually affects the economy, revenue generation and income opportunity for all concern depending directly or indirectly on tourism sector.
