HSPDP West Khasi Hills unit reconstituted

NONGSTOIN: The Hills State People Democratic Party (HSPDP) on Saturday reconstituted the party’s unit in West Khasi Hills.
The meeting also discussed the letter from LG Nongsiej, Nongstoin MDC expressing his eagerness to rejoin the party. However, it was decided to hand over the matter to HSPDP Nongstoin unit.
The meeting was also attended by Biolinda L Nonglait, Manstudy Nongrem, Renikton Lyngdoh Tongkhar MLA of Mawkyrwat and Samlin Malniang MLA of Sohiong.
Adressing at the general meeting, HSPDP president KP Pangniang,
said that the party has failed in the last election inspite of West Khasi Hills District being the stronghold of the lion. ‘However, we areunited again and the party will retake all the seats which it lost in the last election,’ he said.
He compared the supporters of the party as a ‘sheep without a shepherd’ in the last election, as the District Unit of HSPDP was dissolved. He stated that the unit now has strong leaders dedicated to the work of the party.
During the meet, Witting Mawsor was appointed as unit president, Thingdar Lyngdoh as the vice president, Nikholas Marwein as the general secretary, Diostar Jyndiang as the treasurer beside others.
