Local bodies hold meeting, demand Civil Sub-division

SHILLONG: A meeting was held in Dalu on Saturday to demand civil sub division status.
The venue for public meeting demanding the civil sub-division for Dalu had to be shifted from Dalu Government Higher Secondary School playground to Sacred Heart HS School auditorium building (Dalu Parish) due to heavy rain.
The meeting, where as many as 5000 people gathered, was conducted by Junstemey R. Marak, chairman, Garo Hills Sate Movement Committee, Dalu unit.
Others who were present included Dalu legislator Brening Sangma, Sengjrang A Sangma, president (A.I.J.I.F), the Mother’s Union representative Archana Ch Marak, Nokma from Durabanda, Jingon T Sangma, Matgrik D Marak vice president (G.S.U), members of Koch, Hajong and Bengali communities, Nikme D Sangma A•king Nokma of Magupara, representative of the Garo Hills State Movement Committee, central office Tura, Nikman Ch Marak and others.
