IMFL raid
The Excise staff of East Khasi Hills District, Shillong continued the drive against illicit liquor conducted raids in restaurants/stalls in the town and its outskirts. During the month of May, the department detected 22 cases with a seizure of 84.950 liters of i/d liquor and 242.820 litres IMFL seized. In this connection, 17 persons were arrested under the Excise Act. The cases are under investigation/prosecution.

Weather warning
The Indian Meteorological Department has issued warning that heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely to occur at isolated places over Assam and Meghalaya from July 31- August 3.
