Woman dies in attack by migrant worker in Kerala

Kochi: A 22-year-old woman died this morning after she was allegedly attacked by a migrant worker with a sharp-edged weapon at her residence near Perumbavoor in Ernakulam district on Monday morning, police said. Nimisha, a second-year degree student at a private college, reportedly suffered grievous injuries in her neck in the attack allegedly by the migrant worker from Odisha who barged into her house. She died as she was rushed to a hospital in Perumbavoor, police said. One of her relatives was also injured in the attack. He was admitted in the hospital, and his condition was not serious, they said. The migrant worker has been taken into custody and is being interrogated, police said, adding that snatching is suspected to be the motive behind the attack. (PTI)
