SHILLONG: The Commissioner and Secretary, Transport Department has directed the STA/RTA to revise the fares inclusive of passenger tax and freights for journey by mini bus- state carriage (other than by city bus/mini bus in Shillong) or contract carriage with immediate effect.
Enhancement at the rate of 40 per cent which is Rs.105 one passenger per km (for maximum fare of contract carriage/stage carriage and mini bus) 60 paise per quintal per km ( below 14 kg).
Half the rate below 12 years and 70 paise per quintal per km (food stuff and forest product), Rs.175 paise per quital per km (furniture) and while calculating the distance fraction of km will be taken as 1 km.
