TURA: Arrested militant Grikseng Sangma alias Rimpu, who tried to tie up with Bodo militants from Assam’s NDFB to run an extortion racket inside Garo Hills, has led police to the site where he abandoned his pistol while fleeing a police operation.

The former GNLA commander of North Garo Hills was arrested from a public vehicle at Rongmil after escaping a police encounter in Tarasin village of Songsak last Friday in which one Bodo ultra was shot dead. Another militant was lynched by villagers.

The arrested militant led police on Monday outside Tarasin village where he had concealed the pistol for future use.
