State to file counter affidavit

SHILLONG: The state government has sought four weeks’ time to file a counter affidavit in response to the petition filed by the Harijan Panchayat Committee seeking cancellation of High Level Committee dealing with the relocation of settlers of Sweepers’ Lane.
The single bench headed by Judge SR Sen heard the matter on Thursday and the time sought by the Advocate General to file the counter affidavit, was granted.
The matter will come up for hearing after four weeks.
