Army Public School emerges winner in Ramakrishna Mission cultural mission

SHILLONG: Army Public School won the overall Champions Trophy while Pine Mount School got the Runners Trophy in the 44th Annual Cultural Competition 2018, organized by Ramakrishna Mission, Shillong.

Army Public School also won the winners Trophy in Debate and Quiz Competition. The month long Competitions which include Vocal Music, Sit and Draw, Recitation (in various languages), Essay, Elocution, Debate, Quiz etc, for nursery to college level students came to an end on Saturday at Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Cultural Centre, Quinton Road with the Prize Distribution Ceremony.

This year prizes were distributed among 194 successful candidates out of 3933 enrolled candidates from 105 Schools.

On Saturday, the event was presided by Swami Tattwavidanandaji Maharaj, Assistant General Secretary and Trustee, Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission, Belur Math.

In his speech he explained the cultural values according to the Vedanta. Prof. Henry Lamin, Pro- Vice-Chancellor, NEHU, who was the Chief Guest of the programme, encouraged the students and asked them to follow the ideals of Swami Vivekananda in his address. The programme was attended by Swami Sarvabhutanandaji Maharaj, Trustee, Ramakrishna Math and Mission Belur Math and Secretary Ramakrishna Mission, Shillong and other dignitaries.

This year the event is dedicated to Swami Vivekananda’s 125th year of Chicago Address at the World Parliament of Religions.
