SHILLONG: The Skhem Rympei Tynrai (SRT) Ri-War Mihngi, Pynursla, said the Jaintia Hills Autonomous District Council (JHADC) should enact a similar legislation as that of the KHAD (Khasi Social Custom Lineage) (Second Amendment) Bill, 2018.
In a statement issued here, SRT said it supports the bill passed by the KHADC that denies ST status to a Khasi woman marrying a non-Khasi.
Meanwhile, the pro-bill group STIEH (Saiñdur, Tipkur Tipkha, Ieng, Ehrngiew, Khun Hynñiewtrep) met the members of SRT Riwar Mihngi Pynursla on Thursday in which the latter expressed their support and cooperation to STIEH.
