Nurses shortage hits NEIGRIHMS

SHILLONG: The state Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) leader, Jamil Ahmed wrote to Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, J P Nadda on the acute shortage of staff nurse at North Eastern Indira Gandhi Regional Institute of Health and Medical Sciences (NEIGRIHMS).

 

Informing that he had a meeting with the Director of the Institute during which he learnt that the Institute had requested appointment of about 840 staff nurses but the same had not been cleared by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

 

In this connection, he had requested the intervention of the Union Minister to accord approval of the number of nurses required by the NEIGRIHMS which will also reduce unemployment problems to some extent in the state.
