GUWAHATI: Meghalaya police have initiated investigation into the mysterious death of a 20-year-old woman who was found in a drain in the 10th Mile area near the inter-state border on Monday.
The deceased was a resident of the Amerigog area on the Assam side.
She had gone along with her friend to visit the Regional Science Centre in Khanapara on Sunday and was missing since she got down in Nine Mile area on her way back home that day, Jessica Sangma, officer-incharge of Khanapara (Meghalaya) police station said.
“A missing report was filed thereafter by her family at the Jorabat police outpost. On Tuesday, her father lodged an FIR at our police station,” Sangma told The Shillong Times on Tuesday evening.
A post mortem was conducted but police are yet to receive the report.
