By-poll holiday
All state government offices and educational institutions falling under South Tura and Ranikor constituencies will remain close on August 23 in order to enable voters to exercise their franchise in connection with the by- election to the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly.
SK Oil released
The DC (Supply), West Khasi Hills District, Nongstoin has informed that SK Oil for the month of August, has been released through S.K. Oil Sub-dealers to the families of AAY, PHH and Non-NFSA. The price for the Sub-dealer is Rs.26.60p per litre and for the public consumers Nongstoin (Town) is Rs. 29.60p per litre and outside Nongstoin (Rural) is Rs. 30.10p per litre.
Meeting
The Ieng Rasong Sports Social and Cultural Club held a general council meeting at Shillong Club Ltd, residential quarters on August 11. At the meeting, discussions were made on pre-advance Christmas musical concert in the month of December, football tournament and traditional song and dance in the coming year.

Cultural meet
