Private vehicles should not be parked on public road
Shillong: Global Indian Social Welfare Forum has asked East Khasi Hills SP to see that no private vehicles are parked on the road side during night time in Kench’s Trace, Last Stop area.The Secretary General of the forum said that some of the car owners in the area have no parking space and they park their vehicles at night on the side of the public road causing inconvenience to others.

Govt to launch farmers’ market in Upper Shillong
SHILLONG: The Market Committee of Farmers Market organised a meeting which was held at Upper Shillong on Tuesday. Minister, Urban Affairs, Municipal Administration and Information Technology, Hametson Dohling, attended the meeting as chief patron besides other officials from Agriculture and Horticulture Department. In the meeting, it was decided that a farmers’ market will be launched at Upper Shillong for the benefits of the farmers. Ex-MLA targeted over non sanction of CGI sheets
TURA: A group of voters from Sillanggre locality near Hawakhana in South Tura constituency have announced their refusal to participate in any election meeting of Independent candidate and former MLA John Leslee K Sangma citing non sanction of CGI sheets for roofing during his tenure as a legislator. Several dozen signatories from the locality alleged that they were asked to submit the list of beneficiaries for CGI distribution by the MLA but despite submission of the list they did not receive the CGI sheets. As a mark of protest the 124 signatories have announced a boycott of the Independent candidate’s meetings in their locality.

SSLC, HSSLC forms to be available from Aug 20
TURA: MBOSE Controller of Examinations, T. R. Laloo has informed that examinations forms for SSLC and HSSLC examinations, 2019 for non-regular, compartmental and improvement candidates will be available at its office in Tura and Shillong during office hours from August 20. With regard to HSSLC, pre-printed forms will be available in soft copy and may be downloaded from MBOSE website www.mbose.in, the official added.

Webcasting of inauguration of services provided under e-Court
asTURA: The District and Sessions Judge, Tura, has informed that various applications for the benefit of litigants and lawyers were launched nationwide on Tuesday by the E-Committee, Supreme Court of India.
It may be mentioned that the applications includes e-Filing along with user Manual, e-Pay, National Service and Tracking of Electronic Processes (NSTEP), SCLSC and awareness about services provided under e-courts projects and the inauguration function was transmitted through internet- webcasting and will be available at all remote locations including District Courts by accessing internet address http://webcast.gov.in/scindia.
