CRPF holds poll review meet

SHILLONG: Prakash D, the CRPF IGP, reviewed election preparedness in South Tura with a stress on effective communication network.
A review meeting was held on Saturday in the deputy commissioner’s office in South Tura to review the election scenario there.The security aspects to hold a free, fair and impartial poll was reviewed. The strong room/EVM security measures were also discussed.
The deployment of forces at the polling booths well before the poll day was discussed. All the men were advised to adopt a voter friendly approach, especially towards women. The IGP CRPF drew the attention towards medical and emergency facilities during the poll day.
The IG also visited a few CRPF camps in Tura and interacted with the men. The by-election to the South Tura seat will be held simultaneously with Ranikor on August 23 and the counting will be on August 27.
