SHILLONG: Reviewing the by-election preparedness in Ranikor constituency, IGP NES CRPF, Prakash D stressed upon the importance of having recovery vans/cranes/bull dozers and ambulances at vantage points to be used in times of emergency.
The election review meeting was held on Monday in the Circuit House at Mawkyrwat in South West Khasi Hills District.
The security aspects to hold a free, fair and impartial poll was reviews thoroughly and Prakash D stressed on establishing effective communication network. The strong room/EVM security measures were also discussed.
The deployment plan of forces at the polling booths well before the poll day was also discussed. All the men were advised to adopt a voter-friendly approach especially towards the women.
The IGP CRPF also drew the attention towards medical and emergency facilities during the poll day.
