2 women, child killed in landslide in Jorabat area

GUWAHATI: As flash flood induced by incessant rains caused unprecedented misery and harassment to residents of many parts of Guwahati especially at Six Mile, Juripar, Khanapara area on Friday, three persons including two women and a child died due to landslide at Sankardev Nagar at Jorabat and at Ninth Mile area in the city on Assam-Meghalaya boundary on Friday afternoon. The deceased were identified as Indira Devi Dorjee, Rakhee Suvedi and Ayush Suvedi (two and half years). Assam government has announced Rs four lakh against each of the deceased and the money will be paid to next of the kin.
