JOWAI: The annual bull fight festival was held at Mynsngat village in West Jaintia Hills on Thursday.
The Dorbar Shnong organises this age-old festival in August every year. Altogether 60 animals have been selected this time.
Farmers from across Jaintia Hills brought their bulls to the festival, which was a one-day affair. The footfall was in thousands.
Jowai MLA Wailadmiki Shylla was the chief guest. JHADC members, including Laski Rymbai, P Nanglein, Shemhok Garod and others were also present.
Betting was high and the owner of the winning bull received prize. Farmers got cash as a token of encouragement.
