Three held for supplying drug to jail inmate

SHILLONG: Three persons were arrested on Monday while they were trying to deliver contraband to an inmate of the Shillong district jail in the city.
Jailor James D Marbaniang lodged a complaint that the jail warders apprehended three visitors Saidali Ali, Kasimuddin and Jurdy Ali during visiting hours on Monday and recovered from their possession a white paper containing a yellow-orange powder suspected to be heroin along with edibles packed in a polythene bag to be delivered to an inmate Haider Ali.
Police arrested the trio and seized the suspected drugs.
