TURA: ASHA workers from Garo Hills have reiterated that they will not be able to withdraw the ongoing cease work being staged under the banner of the All Garo Hills ASHA Workers’ Association until the government releases their pending dues.

With the Meghalaya Government remaining mute on  their demands for release of pending dues, ASHA workers all over the state have been staging a cease work since August 20. The All Garo Hills ASHA Workers’ Association had on August 30 held a meeting at Damalgre in West Garo Hills in which it was unanimously resolved that the strike would not be lifted as the government was yet to fulfill their demands.

According to the association, the government is yet to release the workers honorarium from the year 2015 till date.
