Workshop on climate change held at ICAR Research Complex

SHILLONG: The inaugural session of a two day district contingency plan formulation workshop on climate change was held at the ICAR Research Complex on Thursday. The objective of the workshop is to formulate and finalise district contingency plans for 25 pending districts of the North Eastern Region which would be used by the respective district administration during any climate aberration. The workshop is an initiative taken by the National Innovation in Climate Resilient Agriculture project (NICRA) is one of the major initiatives to combat climate change and conduct research and demonstration on climate resilient agricultural technologies. Participants include experts from CRIDA Hyderabad, senior scientists and heads of 26 KVK’s.
