SHILLONG: The war against drug abuse in Meghalaya is no more confined to the law enforcing agencies with local youth organisations joining the fight to root out the menace.
A group of youths from Seng Samla Malki on Saturday busted a drug circle operating in the locality.
In this connection, five people were arrested and a seizure of 1.07 gm of heroin was made.
The arrested persons have been identified as Marius D Sangma (18), Rakesh Sohbar (18), Kordor Riangshang (21), Sonam Lama (20) and Lamberth Bernard Mawthoh (21). Out of the five arrested two lived in a hostel where the seizure was made. The locality youth caught hold of a user and that led to the racket.
