SHILLONG: Even as a village in East Jaintia Hills (EJH), Suchen village was without electricity for the last one year seven months, electricity bills are still being circulated regularly in the entire village.

This prompted a social worker, Marshall Biam to write to the AEE (Distribution) Sub-Division, Khliehriat. In the letter, Biam said that residents cannot do their work in the work and minor accidents happen as there are no street lights.

He has urged the concerned authorities to take immediate action which will allow the villagers to continue their daily work at night.
