Shillong: The District Magistrate of Ri Bhoi District, Nongpoh, has under Section 144 CrPC, prohibited any industries, institutions, private hotels, dhabas or any person etc. from indulging in, or resorting to, the act of poisoning of rivers, streams or any other water bodies with the explicit intension to cause wide spread/large scale destruction of aquatic life within the district.The order will come into force with immediate effect.
