SHILLONG: Fisheries Minister, Comingone Ymbon has made it clear that the tests for detecting formalin in the imported fishes would continue.

Talking to media persons recently, Ymbon said that the tests for detecting formalin were being done and it would continue.

He also said that there had been no fresh detection of formalin in the imported fishes in the recent past.

In July, Meghalaya government has issued an order banning sale of fish imported from outside the state for some days after some samples had tested positive for presence of formalin and later, the state government lifted the ban on import of fishes from August 22.
