SHILLONG: As the magisterial inquiry into the Harijan Colony issue and the subsequent violent incidents lacked specific details, the district administration has asked the magistrate to further improve upon the report.
East Khasi Hills Deputy Commissioner P S Dkhar said that after the completion of the report, it was referred to the government.
However, the probe report was returned to the magistrate I. Majaw to include more details, he added. The magistrate had submitted the report in August related to the unrest in the city and the task was also to identify the rumour mongers inciting violence.
Soon after the incident, a high level committee was formed by the government to deal with the matter.
Besides, a separate police inquiry is also on in addition to the probes by the commission for minorities and National Human Rights Commission.
