Free sports testing of athletes in SWGH from Sept 18

TURA: The District Sports Office, South West Garo Hills, Ampati is organising free Sports Testing of Athletes and Sports Talent Identification Programme in connection with the National Games, 2022 for boys and girls, 6 years to 18 years, at Ampati and the three blocks of the district starting from September 18, 2018 onwards.

According to the District Sports Officer, J P Marak, the purpose of the programme is to determine the strengths and weaknesses of the athletes/players so that youths talented in sports are identified and not left out from receiving due encouragement in sports. The selected and talented boys and girls will be then trained in their assigned sports disciplines.

The Tests in Zikzak Block shall be held on September 18 at Ganggikona SSA School, in Rerapara Block on September 19 at Okkapara playground, in Betasing Block on September 20 at Betasing playground and in the district heaquarter Ampati on September 22 at Ampati Students’ Field.

The forms for respective blocks are available at Ganggikona SSA School, Okkapara Secondary School, Emmanuel Secondary School, Betasing and District Sports Office, Ampati and they must be submitted in the same school/office 2 days before the tests.
