Arunachal’s first Sainik School gets on the roll

GUWAHATI: First Sainik School of Arunachal Pradesh which has been set up  in East Siang district, was inaugurated on Tuesday by Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister, Pema Khandu, according to a PIB (Defence Wing) communiqué issued on Wednesday.

 

The School has begun its first academic session with an intake of 60 students selected from all over Arunachal and other parts of the country. Khandu congratulated the first-batch students, and appreciated the role of Goalpara Sainik School Principal, Captain Edwin Jothirajan, for his efforts to ensure early establishment of the school.

 

Maj Gen Bhaskar Kalita, GOC Formidable Fifty Six, Education Secretary Madhurani Teotia, Health Minister Alo Libang and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.
