SHILLONG: The Khun Hynniewtrep National Awakening Movement (KHNAM) Central Executive Committee (CEC), on Thursday said that THS Bonney cannot contest as a party candidate as he had already resigned.
KHNAM general secretary Freewelson Marpna said that according to the party constitution, he can be fielded only if he rejoins the party and submits an application seeking to contest the election.
Reacting to Bonney’s claims on the strength of the CEC, Marpna said the KHNAM CEC is going strong and there is no change. Marpna said the matter of expelling KHNAM MLA and MDC Adelbert Nongrum has not cropped up yet.
