1st Assam downhill c’ship

SHILLONG: The first Assam Downhill Championship was organized by Spoke Hub Cycling in Guwahati on September 8 and 9. Mountain biking as a sport is growing in the North East with most of the states taking the initiative to organise races each year. Thirty one participants from the North East and one from Himachal Pradesh took part in the event. Amongst the participants were 5 riders from Shillong Ridor Niangti, Ronan Bazeley, Gregory Kharkongor, Jason Syiem who secured first in the hard tail category and Apshai Niangti who bagged the 2nd position in the full suspension category.
