State Mahila Congress celebrates 35th foundation day

SHILLONG: The Meghalaya Pradesh Mahila Congress on Saturday celebrated the 35th Foundation Day of All India Mahila Congress (AIMC) at Congress Bhavan in the city.
The AIMC secretary in-charge Meghalaya Bismita Gogoi, was the chief guest of the programme.
The programme started with the hoisting of the Mahila Congress flag and the playing of the theme song.
Gogoi lauded the efforts of the Meghalaya Pradesh Mahila Congress under the leadership of Joplin Scott Shylla and her team who have worked for strengthening the party at the grassroots and throughout the State.
She also handed over a letter of appreciation from the president of the Indian National Congress, Rahul Gandhi.
Others who spoke on the occasion were MLAs M Rapsang and Miani D Shira, former ministers Deborah Marak and A H Scott Lyngdoh and MPCC general secretary Manbor S Warjri.
