SHILLONG: UDP MLA from Ranikor Pius Marwein met the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) chief executive member, HS Shylla, on Monday to discuss about the road connectivity from Phlangdiloin to Ranikor.
“This is a proposal of the Centre. I have spoken to the Chief Engineer of Roads and said the road project needs NOC from District Council. I met the CEM so that he will issue an NOC to PWD for which the department will send a proposal,” he told reporters.
The MLA said the existing road needs to be connected and clarified that it will not lead to the areas where uranium mining is done. The road will lead to Ranikor.
The road project falls under Special Accelerated Road Development Programme which will then be handed over to the National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited.
