SHILLONG: The National People’s Party (NPP) has claimed that the Meghalaya State Congress which is already witnessing desertions, is set to face some more jolts in months time

Meghalaya NPP president, WR Kharlukhi on Wednesday told reporters that the exit of veteran Congress leader, D D Lapang, from the party is not an end to their dwindling fortunes as bigger jolts set to hit them in months.

It may be mentioned that the Congress party has already lost two veteran leaders recently- MM Danggo and DD Lapang.

Kharlukhi’s earlier prediction that the state Congress will receive a major blow after the exit of political giant MM Danggo has turned true with the exit of veteran leader Dr DD Lapang. He said that bigger jolts are in store for the Congress as the party had lost the political direction and was on its way to self destruction
