Intervention sought for termination of ‘outsider’ from NHM

SHILLONG: Peter A Sangma, an activist from Phulbari, West Garo Hills has sought the intervention of the Deputy Commissioner of South Garo Hills, who is also the chairman of the District Health society for the removal of ‘outsiders’ in various post in the Health department in Garo Hills.
In a letter to the DC which was also addressed to the chief minister, the activist has alleged that people from Assam have been given the post while many eligible and qualified people from the state are being neglected.
He alleged that the recent appointment of Eliash Hussain, a lab technician at Siju PHC roused suspicion as Hussain had neither applied not given an interview for the post which was advertised under the National Health Mission (NHM). He called for the immediate removal of Hussain and appointment of locals in his place.
