Innovative campaigns, both by the government and private entities, public meets, workshops for the media and religious leaders, stand-up comedy and rallies in all districts are some of the initiatives taken before the big day.
The East Khasi Hills district health society has developed Motivational Video Clips as part of the promotional activities.
Facebook, WhatsApp, television and radio stations and local cable news — all media tools have been employed in this “mother of all campaigns”.
The health minister too played an important role in the campaigning by appealing to parents to take their children for vaccination against the deadly diseases.
Students in many schools are also doing their part in spreading awareness, especially in rural area. Children of Dobaki Playschool in Tura recently made pictorial representation depicting the importance of the vaccine.
