SHILLONG: Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong said on Saturday the MDA partners are yet to take a call on common candidates for the Lok Sabha election next year.Speaking to reporters here on Saturday, Tynsong said, “We have to discuss among the MDA partners before taking a final call on common candidates (for Shillong and Tura seats).”
He refused to comment on UDP’s remark that it would field a candidate from Shillong if NPP contests from Tura.
UDP leader Jemino Mawthoh had said on Friday the party proposed common candidates for both the constituencies.
