SHILLONG: Congress MLA, Azad  Zaman pointed  out that crime rate in Rajabala was on the rise , which was concurred by the Home Minister, James Sangma who informed that the total number of crime incidents in the area was 19 in 2013, 17 in 2014, 15 in 2015, 16 in 2016 and 17 in 2017.

Sangma said there was no proposal to upgrade Rajabala Police outpost into a police station.

Again, Zaman also said that the police outpost would get submerged in water during floods and asserted that the infrastructure should be upgraded which Sangma said could be done as per the availability of funds.

Replying to a supplementary query by Congress MLA, Dikkanchi Shira on manpower, Sangma said the strength of the outpost was one Sub-Inspector and two constables while there was no head constable. The actual sanctioned strength is 2 Sub-Inspectors, 1 head constable and 4 Constables.
