TURA: The A’chik Youth Council (AYC) and the Indigenous Forum for Peace Welfare and Empowerment (IFPWE) from Tikrikilla have urged all parents and guardians especially from remote villages to allow their children to be administered the Measles Rubella Vacine on October 1.

According to the organizations, some villages have decided to boycott the vaccination campaign over fake news and rumours being spread that it is a secret programme of the government to prevent childbirth in women in the future.

Dispelling all their fears and apprehensions, the organizations reassured that all these were nothing but rumours and the ongoing campaign is the initiative of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare to eradicate Measles and Rubella by 2020.
