Irrigation project on track

SHILLONG: The Water Resources Minister Metbah Lyngdoh informed that the proposal for the scheme, “Flow Irrigation Project cum Anti-Erosion Measures on both banks along Umpyrli river at Nongpoh,” Ri-Bhoi District for an estimated amount of Rs 1750 lakh is under process.
Replying to a supplementary query raised by Congress MLA Mayralborn Syiem, Lyngdoh said the scheme has been prepared and it is from the Ministry of DoNER.
Raising a supplementary question, Syiem raised concern that some schemes of the NEC were stalled.
The minister said the government would examine the source of funding for the project.
