Border meeting held at Bumla on China’s National Day
Tezpur: An Indo-China Border Personnel Meeting (BPM) on the occasion of Chinese National Day was organised at Bumla in Arunachal Pradesh. The Indian delegation was led by Brig Zubin Bhatnagar, Commander of Tawang Brigade and the Chinese side by Sr Col Yao Shi Chen of Tsona Dzong Garrison, according to a defence spokesman here. The Border Personnel Meeting on Monday was marked by unfurling of the national flags of both the countries, followed by formal address by the delegation leaders. The Chinese side presented a colourful cultural programme at the function. The proceedings reflected the increasing mutual desire of maintaining and improving relations at the border in consonance with the desire of the national leaders of the two countries, the spokesman said. The delegations parted amidst feeling of friendship and commitment towards enhancing the existing cordial relations and maintaining peace along the Line of Actual Control, the spokesman added. (PTI)
BSNL to introduce 4G service in Tripura & 2 other NE states
Agartala: The Bharat Sanchar Nagar Limited (BSNL) will introduce 4G mobile service in Tripura and two other north eastern states soon, an official said here Tuesday. The BSNL will introduce 4G mobile service in Tripura, Meghalaya and Mizoram in next three months, the official said, adding an order for procuring equipments has already been placed and hopefully they will be delivered within next two and half months. Confirming the plan, Assistant General Manager of BSNL, Tripura SSA, Bikash Sarkar said BSNL want to provide quality service to its subscribers with affordable price. “BSNL authority has approved to introduce 4G mobile service in Tripura along with two other NE states,” he said. Centre approves proposals for setting up colleges in Nagaland
Kohima: In a major boost to Nagaland’s higher education sector, the central government has approved proposals for setting up of two colleges for advanced studies, an Engineering College and a Multi-Professional College (law, management and music technology) in the state. According to a statement from the Minister’s office ton Monday, this was informed by the Nagaland Minister for Higher and Technical Education Temjen Imna Along. He said the Centre had given the nod to the Engineering College in early September, while the approval for the Multi-Professional College was announced when a team from the Ministry of Human Resource Development visited the state for a review meeting for implementation of the Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan in Nagaland, Manipur and Mizoram on September 27.
