SHILLONG: The two parallel reports of the CBI, which is probing the education scam, will be submitted to the High Court of Meghalaya by November 3.
An official source said on Saturday that the CBI has almost completed the probe.
The central investigating agency is carrying out twin probes, one is to examine the criminal aspect of the education scam pending against politicians and officials and the other is to investigate the remaining 10 centres where teachers’ recruitment was carried out.
Earlier, the court had scrapped the LP school teachers’ recruitment carried out in the five centres.
Curiously, the original score sheets of the candidates are missing from the 10 centres though the CBI recently completed the probe in all these centres.
The official source added that out of the 10 centres, only the photocopies of eight were available.
This may give rise to a further plea by the CBI to find out who destroyed the original score sheets when the probe agency submits its report to the court in November.
The Division Bench of the High Court had on November 2 last ordered the probes giving time frame of six months for completion.
Later, the court extended six more months since May this year to complete the probe.
The official source added that as far as the criminal aspect of the education scam is concerned, more than 400 persons were quizzed by the CBI.
Earlier, the CBI had taken the statements of politicians who recommended the names of the candidates for appointment, former education minister and Congress legislator Ampareen Lyngdoh and the education officials.
Recently, the CBI has apprised the status of the tainted teachers before the court after a petition was filed by 99 teachers, who were not considered as tainted by the High Level Committee constituted by the state government.
However, the stand of the CBI before the court was that the investigation into the matter was still on and at least the candidature of 42 teachers was found to be tainted.
